I'm the breeder behind Big Mac Boxers located in Walton, KY. Boxers that are fully health tested by FCI and ABC standards. Pedigrees are known for quality, health, and longevity. The goal we set and which I believe is still the most important, is to produce healthy puppies.
Q. & A. with Jeannie
Why did you start breeding?
Our 1st boxer was an outstanding lineage of Boxella that was imported and brought to the USA in the 1970s. Loved the European type and quality so was mentored by a seasoned breeder to start our line.
What makes your program special?
Quality, health testing, marriage of pedigree, working ability, breed standard, and 25 years of boxer breed experience. Along with being a trainer and behaviorist.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include fawn, brindle, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Spine (OFA, FCI), Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC), DNA Profile
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
