I'm Rebecca S., the breeder behind Boodle's Standard Poodles located in Pink Hill, NC. I focus on health and temperament to produce the best quality dogs possible. Several of my puppies have gone on to become medical alert service dogs or therapy dogs, in addition to beloved and spoiled members of their new families! They have evenly matched temperaments, are intelligent, sweet, and loving. I am happy to answer your questions and help you find the puppy that is the right fit for your lifestyle.
Q. & A. with Rebecca
Why did you start breeding?
After doing a lot of research, investing in wonderful foundation dogs to start my program, and finding a good breeding mentor, I was ready to begin my line. I am just a small hobby breeder. One of the reasons I do what I do is because it's interesting to me to understand how it all works and how genetics play out in producing the best dogs possible. I love watching the puppies grow and learn to become confident, intelligent, and happy dogs.
What makes your program special?
I use the Puppy Culture socialization system to raise confident, easily trained, friendly, and happy dogs. My dogs live in my home with me and they are spoiled rotten. Everyone is health checked and cleared, and the puppies are given the very best foundation I can give them by teaching them Puppy Culture protocols. I love all of my puppies and I stand behind them for life. My puppy families keep in touch, and I love to see how their puppies have grown over the years.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, apricot, black, brown, cream, red, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Boodle's Standard Poodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), X-Linked Progressive Retinal Atrophy (XL-PRA), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
