I'm the breeder behind Braeleen Shetland Sheepdogs located in Caldwell, ID. My goal is to produce a great representation of the Shetland Sheepdog and to continue improving the line with each generation. As a breeder, I feel a sense of responsibility to prioritize the overall health and temperament of each of my puppies and to ensure that they are loved and well cared for prior to joining their forever homes. It would be my pleasure to introduce your family to your next beloved companion.
About Kathleen
This breed is my passion, and I enjoy spending my life with them. I strive to not only produce beautiful puppies and continue my show line, but to help promote responsible breeding in order to ensure that the Shetland Sheepdog will continue to thrive for generations to come.
What makes Kathleen’s program special
I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have what they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. I am very conscious about who I rehome my puppies to and always ensure that each one goes to the best home possible complementary to its personality and ability. My dogs and puppies are my family, and they get the best care I can possibly provide.

When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $2,000 - $2,500 and include a refundable deposit of $200.
“The price includes a health and temperament guarantee.”
Kathleen may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Kathleen offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Kathleen directly.
I make every effort to socialize and start training before placing puppies. I make suggestions for training as a companion, and I remain a resource for buyers of my puppies. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Basic Manners, Introduction to Doggy Doors, Initial Potty Training, Human Interactions, Noise Desensitization, Safe Socialization, Various Surfaces, Surface and Tactile Stimulation, Grooming Desensitization, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Children, Grooming and Nail Care, and Puppy Manners.
All puppies will have been wormed multiple times. They will also have received at least their first couple of vaccinations. Puppies will have had a health exam by my local veterinarian.
We send our puppies home with Microchip, Information Brochures (health record, training tips, and fun facts), and AKC Registration.
Kathleen offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“I start with communication by email and phone to learn more about prospective families and what type of temperament will fit best. I prefer visits with buyers at my home where we can get a better opportunity for interactions. I would rather not ship puppies, but I have done so in the past.”
Why Kathleen started breeding
I regularly participate in conformation shows and started breeding to continue and improve upon my prized Shetland Sheepdog line. It is an honor to represent this breed and create opportunities for others to experience the same joy that I've found in raising these wonderful dogs.
