About Kija
Hello my name is Kija and I have been raised with dogs my entire life. My mother was a dog breeder growing up so it is in my blood. I absolutely love dogs and the privilege of raising them for families. I am married and have triplets so our puppies are a family affair. Puppies come socialized to a busy household and are very confident. I would love to speak with you about your next family member.
What makes Kija’s program special
At Brookside Doodles we focus on the dogs first. All our parents dogs are family members. Either with us or in a guardian home. None of our dogs are kenneled and live outside. We genetically health test our dogs to ensure they are healthy before breeding. All puppies are raised in our home surrounded by family.

Getting a puppy from Kija
Kija has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $4,000 - $5,500 and include a deposit of $500.
“The price includes first vet exam, first round of shots, microchip, appropriate deworming, 2 year genetic health guarantee, litter scented blanket, toy and 30 free pet insurance. Non-refundable but deferrable until timing for family is good and wanted puppy is available.”
Contract and health guarantee
Kija may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
Our puppies are raised in our home and socialized to a busy household with kids and adult dogs. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Scent introduction, Daily handling, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Various sounds, and Potty Training.
Puppy health practices
All puppies are given a vet exam, neopar vaccine, first booster vaccine, microchip and appropriate deworming.
Extras
We send our puppies home with Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Microchip, Vet records, Initial potty training, and Toys.
Bringing your puppy home
Kija offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Murrieta, CA or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Get your puppy dropped off to you
Work with a trusted flight nanny to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.

Why Kija started breeding
I have been helping raise puppies since I was a little girl. I became a shih tzu breeder in early 2000’s but then having a family caused me to take a break. My family and I now are very passionate about breeding amazing doodles. It has become a family affair.

Kija’s Bernedoodle puppies include standard, medium, and mini sizes. Sizes will vary by litter based on the parent dogs.

Kija’s Bernedoodle puppies include red, phantom, tri-color, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
