Certified Breeder of Goldendoodles

Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind DoodleSmith, LLC located in Arden, NC. I am a breeder of First Generation English Goldendoodles, also referred to as F1 English TeddyBear Goldendoodles. This breed is a cross between an English Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle, two of the most friendly and smartest breed of dogs in the world.

Q. & A. with Mary

  • Why did you start breeding?

For the past 35 years, I have been the owner and general manager of ImageSmith, a full-service printing and marketing services company. Several years ago, I became enamored with the thought of becoming a breeder as I entered my retirement years. I wanted to breed a dog that would be the most ideal pet, companion, and helper for most families. I chose the Goldendoodle, which is smart, mostly non-shedding & hypoallergenic, and is many times used as a trusting therapy dog.
  • What makes your program special?

I only breed F1 Goldendoodles (Poodle and Gold Retriever cross) because they exhibit the best hybrid vigor - increased vigor and qualities superior to those of both parents. DNA testing and studying of the Goldendoodle breed allows me to feel quite confident that my puppies will be some of the best of this breed you will find.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include medium and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, apricot, red, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
