Double Banded Labradors

Mary Frances C.

Certified Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Double Banded Labradors located in Comer, AL. I breed Labrador Retrievers to preserve the breed I am passionate about. I aim to produce puppies bred to the standard for temperament, conformation, and health. I also aim to preserve retrieving drive and hunting abilities. All breeding dogs have health clearances.

Q. & A. with Mary Frances

  • Why did you start breeding?

I loved our dogs and thought I would enjoy breeding and raising puppies. I also thought I could do a good job producing healthy puppies. One of our first dogs had hip dysplasia and came from one untested parent. I did not want others to experience the same. Though, some things I learned the hard way. But I have always strived to learn and have excellent breeding practices.
  • What makes your program special?

There are not many Labrador breeders who show their dogs in the ring and also prove them in the field. That is our goal. We want to produce beautiful dogs that conform to the breed standard and can go in the ring, but also be a pleasure in the field and home.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
