I'm the breeder behind Double Ring Kuvasz located in Fredericktown, MO. My love affair with the Kuvasz breed began in the early 1980s. We acquired our first in 1989 and have been very involved since.

Why did you start breeding?
My grandfather had a couple of Chihuahua litters when I was a kid. I was fascinated with the babies.
What makes your program special?
Heart and soul. We are involved in our local all-breed club and the AKC Parent Club for the Kuvasz serving in many capacities, President, Board Member, Chair or member of the Health Committee, member Judges' Education Council, etc. Have worked rescue for 30 years.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
