I'm the breeder behind Dousinbury Creek K-9s located in Long Lane, MO. We treat our dogs and puppies like family, and we give each pup all the loving care that we can to prepare them for their forever homes. We are proud of our program and look forward to helping you find your next furry family member!
Q. & A. with Joann
Why did you start breeding?
Sixteen years ago, we decided that we wanted to start raising dogs because we loved them so much. I looked into a lot of different breeds and chose Havanese because they are such healthy, happy, quirky, comical, loving dogs. I got three of them and we never looked back.
What makes your program special?
We have loved raising them, working with them, and providing amazing families with a long-living fur baby that will fit in perfectly. We pride ourselves on doing everything that we can to make sure they are social, healthy, and that it is a smooth, stress free transition. I think we stand out because we believe customer satisfaction is just as important as providing a healthy, happy puppy. We love our babies and want them to be in perfect homes with people we know will love them as much as we do. We have been in situations where things just didn't feel right and we never want anyone to feel that way about us. 100% satisfaction is our goal.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Havanese puppies include red, chocolate, silver, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Dousinbury Creek K-9s reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Havanese.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
