Q. & A. with Elyzza

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey into dog breeding began with a lifelong love for animals, inspired by my close bond with my mother. Our puppies include tiny, mini, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Wonderful Puppy, Professional Breeder, Honest Thoughts TLDR: I would absolutely recommend Down Home Doodle. The puppy I received is wonderful, and the process leading up to pickup was thoughtful and professional. I adopted my mini Bernedoodle (12-weeks), Shia, from Down Home Doodle this summer, and overall I had a great experience. The team—Emily, Samantha, and Elyzza—was kind, responsive, and clearly dedicated to raising well-socialized puppies. Communication was strong, updates were consistent, and pickup was smooth and flexible. I also really appreciated the attention to detail—like a familiar-scented blanket, microchip support, and insurance info. Shia came home confident, affectionate, and beautifully adjusted. She’s been a joy. The socialization program made a noticeable difference—she wasn’t overly mouthy like many young puppies, and she was already wonderfully crate trained from day one, which made the transition so much easier. Training has been going well. She responds good to food : ). One small disappointment came after her first vet visit. Given I'm a first time dog owner, I reached out to the breeder with some very minor health concerns based on her health exam results and was hoping for collaborative support or care suggestions. Instead, the tone felt more defensive than engaged. It didn’t change my overall trust in them, but I did feel a bit let down in that moment since it didn't appear consistent with the wonderfully accommodating communication up to that point. The cost is definitely on the higher side compared to some breeders, but I do feel the quality and early care reflect that price. To sum it up, I would absolutely recommend Down Home Doodle.

Elyzza was so great to work with. I had been in contact with several breeders but they all felt like business owners. While I do understand this is a business, I think having compassion for the interested families and finding a great fit for the puppies is just as important as making the sale. I fell in love with Rosie (formally Castle) from the first picture. However, due to my work obligations, my family and I could not go see her nor pick her up for 2 wks. Understanding that we had our hearts set on Rosie, Elyzza worked with us. With a down payment, she was held for those 2 wks and then we utilized the puppy transfer services to have her brought right to our door. It was a stress-free process. Rosie herself has lived up to every expectation. She acclimated very quickly which I think is a testament to how she was treated by the breeder.

I am so thankful I found the Good Dog web site. They not only provided reputable breeders and dogs but also helped facilitate the whole process of getting a puppy. Through Good Dog, I found the most remarkable breeders and trainers at Down Home Doodle. I purchased a beautiful mini Berniedoodle from Down Home Doodle three weeks ago. His name is Winston AKA Dart. He is the most wonderful puppy! He is smart, healthy and has a beautiful personality with a bit of sass. He also is adorable but I am biased! From the moment I contacted Emily at Down Home Doodle, it has been nothing but professional and seamless in receiving my new puppy. With the help of Alyssa, Samantha, and Emily, I found a beautiful addition to our family. I had our puppy delivered directly to our house which saved us 12 hours of driving, such a great service! I received all the information we needed to get us all off to a good start including Winston’s diet, his normal routine, Vet information and training he had had so far. I received frequent updates and videos of Winston the two weeks prior to bringing him home. I continue to use valuable information on their website and also on the Good Dog website. Additionally, I still contact Down Home Doodle for information and suggestions on how to train Winston. I highly recommended Good Dog to find a certified, trustful breeder. I especially recommend Down Home Doodle in selecting a most wonderful doodle dog. Dawn

Elyzza helped us so much to find a perfect pup for my sister. Me and her husband were trying to have a surprise puppy for her, and Elyzza helped us so much with picking the right puppy and getting it to us, as well as helping with documentations for travel! Ruby is such an amazing, super social puppy who is very smart and just absolutely perfect fit to the family!

Elyzza and her team is absolutely incredible! From start to finish they were very attentive, kind, informative and so sweet! I got updates everyday leading up to getting our sweet girl Sprite! We had her transported with their nanny service and we got updates along the way and everything! They have done an amazing job at socializing her because she is so wonderful with my 2 toddlers! 💛💛 We love our girl so much and are so thankful for you guys!
