I'm the breeder behind Drache Feld located in Winchester, KY. German Shepherds are highly intelligent and versatile animals. We test their abilities in various sports from scentwork, tracking, obedience, rally, temperament testing, and IGP (IPO or Schutzhund). We show dogs in SV German Style shows and AKC. 30+ years in the breed. Family pets and show dogs.

Why did you start breeding?
1990 I purchased my first registered GSD from a well known and successful breeder of show dogs. Cloverleif Hills Kennel. It fueled the obsession and it has been an amazing journey, we are always striving to produce the best and continue our education.What makes your program special?
Myself and Charlie Starr have been breeding and competing GSD's for over 30 years. We breed to improve what we believe is important; health, temperament, conformation, and intelligence. Many of our dogs are bred by us, trained & titled by us. This is special because in multi-generations we know our dogs genetically, in temperament, and have decades of experience in improving the next generationWhat are the different breed coat types in your program?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Everything went fine with Rebecca. She got back to me in a very timely manner on everything. Her husband met with me when I picked up the dog and was very polite as well. The puppy however is quite a different story. Still having quite a few issues with her.
