Q. & A. with Erin
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding because I had a deep love for the breed and became dedicated in preserving the AKC breed standard, excellent temperament, and the perfect loyal family companion.
What makes your program special?
Our breeding program sets us apart from others as our dogs all live in our home with our family. We have fewer litters per year so that we can focus on creating well rounded animals that thrive in a home setting.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black brindle, red, fawn sable, fawn brindle, fawn, and red brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Explicit Amstaffs Of New England reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for American Staffordshire Terriers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 4A (NCL4A), American Staffordshire Terrier Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

We are very pleased with the service we received from Erin. She kept in contact with us, answered all questions, and made this process so easy and pleasant. We are so very happy with our puppy and so happy we found Erin and Good Dog in helping us find our perfect little guy. After giving Erin information about our previous dog that passed away and listened to what we were looking for, she found us the perfect dog.

We could not be happier with our experience working with Erin. From the very beginning, everything was smooth and stress-free. She was incredibly easy to work with and answered every single question we had quickly and thoroughly.
Our puppy, Marley Rose (formally Brie), is the sweetest girl with the best temperament—playful, calm, and clearly well cared for before coming home with us. It’s obvious Erin puts so much love and attention into her dogs, and we are forever grateful to her for giving us Marley.
If you are looking for a breeder who is responsive, caring, and truly committed to raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies, Erin is the one. We highly recommend her
