Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Great Lakes Poodles located in Tawas City, MI. Our breeding program started with one small litter that turned into a fulfilling, lifelong passion! We believe there’s no greater joy than providing families with a loving canine companion. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. Many of our poodles are trained as service dogs.

Wynne’s experience

  • About Wynne

My name is Wynne Erickson and I am the inspiration behind Great Lakes Poodles. I am a retired high school teacher; my certification is in art, English, and social studies. I love to research. As the only miniature and moyen poodle breeder in Northeastern Lower Michigan, my goal is to breed poodles that have great structure, outgoing temperaments and an interesting coat (void of merle coat).

  • What makes Wynne’s program special

Our poodles have had their DNA tested through UC Davis and PawPrint Genetics. None of our dogs are carriers for commonly known disorders. Tests have been done on eyes, hips, and elbows. All of my dogs have been tested and scored for diversity. When considering any dog, it is best to research and ask questions. I am happy to share what I have learned.
