What makes Diane’s program special
We breed infrequently, and carefully, choosing only the best combination. Our dogs have their CHIC numbers before being considered to be bred, and our puppies are raised lovingly in our home with a huge focus on early socialization. We strive to produce dogs that are true to the breed type in conformation, but also in temperament and personality.

Diane has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $1,500 and include a non-refundable deposit of $0.
“Our puppies are all the same price regardless of gender or registration type (limited or full). The price of a puppy includes a microchip and registration. $200.”
Diane may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Diane offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Diane directly.
Puppies are raised in the home, so everyday hustle and bustle of a house is normal to them from day one. They are exposed to early grooming (nail trims, blow dryer noise, etc) as well as handling of their feet and ears, they begin crate training, they encounter a wide variety of walking surfaces, novel items (such as an opening umbrella), they are started with leash training and exposed to strange people. Importantly, they also learn to interact nicely and appropriately with our calm adult dogs, which helps them learn bite inhibition. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Potty Training, Leash Walking, Crate Training, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Grooming Desensitization, Household Desensitization, Touch Desensitization, Early Neurological Stimulation, Toys, e.g. Ball, Chew, e.g. Bone, Structures, e.g. Climbing, and Scents.
Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, are dewormed, examined by a veterinarian, and microchipped before leaving our home.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While HawkWillow Hounds hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Diane offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“We don't typically ship puppies, however, we're willing to work with our families, and may be able to arrange transportation. ”
Why Diane started breeding
We got our first Coonhound in 2008, and have been in love with Black and Tan Coonhounds since then. We started with showing dogs and really learning the breed and what makes them so fantastic and unique. With the help of a fabulous mentor in the breed, we bred our first litter in 2014.
Diane has been a member of Good Dog for about 5 years
