I'm the breeder behind Hedge Lane Labradors located in Baldwin City, KS. We decided to take our love for these breeds to the next level by breeding our incredible dogs. We hope our puppies bring lots of joy and love into the hearts of their new families!
About Sue
I chose the name "Hedge Lane Labradors" in honor of my father who passed away in January 2020. My Dad was the best man I ever knew and loved his family more than anything! I am so proud of the man my father was and want his legacy to live on through my work here at Hedge Lane Labradors. He knew my passion for dogs and always wanted me to fulfill my dreams of owning my own kennel. I thought, what better name than to use the street name he lived on for most of his life and all of mine. If I do only half the job, he did there on Hedge Lane Rd., here at Hedge Lane Labrador’s, I think I’ll have made him proud!
What makes Sue’s program special
We think our breeding program is pretty special for a few reason. #1) You won't see our adults locked up in kennels all day. They truly are treated like members of our family and welcomed with open arms to snuggle on the couch. #2) We couldn't be more proud of our foundation boy Nash! He has been super popular among other improvement dilute breeders, so much infact, he has pups sired in New Zealand, Germany, Canada, & Italy!! #3) Our biggest compliment over the years is how easy our pups are to train, especially potty training. This is because we have implemented Volhard Testing & start them very early with a litter box.

Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $2,000 - $4,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $200.
“The price of our pups vary due to breed & color. Every puppy will get a check up from our wonderful vet Dr. Nottingham before they leave! They will leave with their first round of shots, first monthly treatment for heartworm/flea/& tick, and dewormed 4 times before they go home. We no longer remove dewclaws, (unless requested ahead of time) as new studies are showing they are important for proper joint growth, and are essential if they ever need to climb out of a dangerous situation, like a frozen pond etc. Pup will come with a Sales Receipt/Health Guarantee that covers hip dysplasia, (any pup diagnosed with moderate or severe hip dysplasia before the age of 2) elbows, eyes, and all 177 genetic diseases we test for through Embark and 2 new diseases we test for through paw prints. A signed copy of our guarantee will be in your folder on puppy pick up day, along with AKC registration papers, shot records, microchip info, signed vet check sheet from Dr. Nottingham, and lots of other fun fact puppy info! Also in your bag will be some puppy food, in case you want to transition to something other than what we feed, which is Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy Formula (click for image of bag). There will also be a blanket that smells like Momma and littermates for their crate (click for image of the crate we use), and a new toy to play with on the ride home!! Deposit is to reserve your pup until they're ready to go home. Will refund if legitimate reason is explained.”
Sue may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Sue offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Sue directly.
I utilize the following enrichment methods: Surface & tactile stimulation, Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Car rides, Various sounds, Listen to lots of music, They learn the doggie door around five weeks. , Around 2 weeks of age we introduce new objects, change the environment, introduce people (strangers, elderly, kids) and other dogs (puppy & adult) to expose the puppy to as many new experiences as possible, Our puppies are born in a quiet, dark place in our home to allow development until their eyes open, during this time we practice early neurological stimulation and hold pups daily, We begin potty training along with crate training & believe the two go hand in hand., Litter Box Trained, and Doggy door training .
Every puppy will get a check up from our wonderful Vet Dr. Nottingham before they leave! He even comes out to our puppy building so that we don't have to expose them to anything yucky at a veterinarian office! We no longer remove dewclaws, (unless requested ahead of time) as new studies are showing they are important for proper joint growth, & are essential if they ever need to climb out of a dangerous situation, like a frozen pond etc.
