I'm Gladys T., the breeder behind House of Little Lions located in Brevard, NC. In order to produce the best quality puppies, we breed with a focus on health, temperament, and structure. We are passionate about Shih Tzus, and our love for these dogs shines through in every aspect of our breeding program.
Q. & A. with Gladys
Why did you start breeding?
I was a member of Obedience Club and my first Shih Tzu was a registered Therapy Dog. I started training my Shih Tzus for obedience and realized they are naturally therapeutic. Have always raised dogs in my house and my puppies are well socialized to people and dogs. I have two that go everywhere with me without a leash because they are so well trained and love attention from everyone.
What makes your program special?
The personality of my dogs. They are all smart funny obedient and happy. Most are placed in homes because they have met one of my dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver, blue, red, blue and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Mercy, mom
Shih Tzu
About Mercy
Mercy lives up to her name! This is her first litter and she’s a wonderful mother! Takes her job very seriously and doesn’t want just anyone touching her babies. Raised in my house we recently had to move the babies to my bedroom so I could get some sleep. Mercy would come to get me because they were getting out of the whelping box. At least Piper was ! So now we all can sleep with them in the puppy pen with plenty of room and both Moms close by!
