I'm the breeder behind Lone Star Mastiff located in Fort Worth, TX. Our dogs and pups are raised in our home and are loved as family. We strive to produce high-quality show prospects and companions. It is important to us to preserve our own phenomenal bloodlines and improve the breed with each litter. We strive to improve Mastiffs for generations to come!
Q. & A. with Shannon
Why did you start breeding?
My son was born with Cerebral Palsy so he was very unsteady learning to walk. We had a Lab and Great Dane at the time and they kept knocking him down. Once we found our first Mastiff we were hooked. She was so gentle with him and now he is raising his 3 kids with the great great granddaughter of our first girl.
What makes your program special?
We only breed when we have the time to dedicate 100% of our time to the babies. Many of our puppies go to therapy homes or homes with children. We spend a lot of time exposing the puppies to different sights, sounds and people so they are well adjusted and confident when they go home. Temperament is very important to us. We also spend a lot of time on potty training.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
