I'm the breeder behind Long & Low Miniature Dachshunds located in Dahlonega, GA. We are in-home breeders; our dogs are our family pets and we are not a large kennel. We usually have 1 litter We are very attentive to litters and ensure they are healthy and handled by all my family members. I strive to keep my costs down, so that those savings can be passed on the the buyers.
Q. & A. with Jerome
Why did you start breeding?
One of our doxies, Sadie, passed from cancer. Our other doxie went into depression so we decided to get her a playmate. We found a longhair male and fell in love at first sight. Well, after 5 months with us, we came home one day and found he and my other doxie had tied. That was our first litter. I was able to place those puppies with great families and it was such a fulfilling feeling! So the rest is history.
What makes your program special?
Our breeding program is not set up as a major kennel. We specialize in red and chocolate Longhairs.
