I'm the breeder behind Lordocs located in Punta Gorda, FL. We breed for perfection, striving to breed champions and in particular breeding for health, temperament, and type. Whether our puppies are placed in show homes or pet homes, our breeding standards are always the same. All of our pups live in our home and are an important part of our family.
Q. & A. with Lorrie
Why did you start breeding?
We have been showing and responsibly breeding AKC puppies since 1999. I started training, showing, and breeding (Miniature Wirehaired) Dachshunds and eventually added Havanese. Due to my love of the Havanese, I gave my full attention to them and stopped breeding Dachshunds. I have attained numerous championships with dogs of both breeds.
What makes your program special?
In 2011, I was designated “AKC Breeder of Merit” from the American Kennel Club in recognition of the number of championships we have produced. Our puppy’s parents are from champion dams and sires. All of our adult dogs and puppies live in our home and are an important part of our family. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Lordocs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Havanese.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
