I'm the breeder behind Lorry's Ark located in Kansas. Our mission is to raise healthy, happy, adorable Shih Tzu puppies and connect loving families with their new best friends! We raise our puppies with love in our home, and we strive to help each one grow up with confidence so they are ready to leave with their new families. They are affectionate, intelligent, and cute as can be!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    About 30 years ago, when my children were small, I wanted to be able to be home with them. That meant finding a way to help stretch the house-hold finances. So my husband and I thought that I should find a way to do that with my love of animals. That was the birth of Lorry's Ark. At that time we have all kinds of animals including the dogs. As the years have gone by and our children grew up and out of our home, the variety of animals have also lessened. My love of the Shih-Tzu has only gotten stronger so they are what takes all of my attention now. We have just a couple of girls and one very spoiled boy to keep my busy throughout the year. We generally have 2-3 litters each year.

  • What makes your program special?

    I would have to say that one thing that sets my breeding program apart from other's is that my fur-kids are my family first and foremost. If we have puppies, then that is wonderful and we love each and every one of them and find the best possible homes for them. We keep in touch with the families who have gotten one (or 2 or 3!) puppies. I still get pictures from puppies placed 12 years ago! Each fur-kid is a cherished member of our home.

Getting a puppy from Loretta

Price

Puppy prices range from $2,200 - $2,400 and include a non-refundable deposit of $500.

“This price includes worming's and age appropriate shots for the first 10 weeks of our puppies life. It also includes a micro-chip, at least 2 visit's with their Veterinarian, a Health Certificate and AKC papers. Each puppy also takes home with them a small package/bag to help him or her to transition into their new home easier. $500.”

Contract & health guarantee

Loretta may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
