I'm the breeder behind Los Arteagas Collies & Standard Poodles located in Evans, CO. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and structure. Although our main focus is conformation, we also participate in a number of other sports such as herding, dock diving, barn hunt, and more! We carefully plan out all our breedings and only breed dogs who meet the breed standard and pass health tests. We look forward to connecting with you!
Q. & A. with Violet
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding after showing and assisting friends/mentors in the show ring for a few years and doing my own research on top of that. I wanted to make sure I was ready to go off on my own with the two breeds I absolutely love. I got my first showgirl (Gabby) in 2017 and quickly finished her in the ring.
What makes your program special?
Not only do we raise puppies with Puppy Culture, but we also do Early Neurological Stimulation and start puppies around 3 weeks of age on grooming. Poodles get their face/feet shaved and all puppies get baths, nail trimming, and blow-drying once a week until they go home. We start potty training and crate training. Puppies go see an eye specialist before going home as well.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Collie puppies include blue merle and white. Poodle puppies include cream and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
