I'm the breeder behind Love of Pugs located in Rushmore, MN. My pugs are such an important part of my life. Raising pugs has been such an amazing and heartwarming experience. These dogs are part of the family and I couldn’t imagine my life without them.
Q. & A. with Mercadies
Why did you start breeding?
My mom actually got me into breeding dogs. She’s been a breeder herself for over 20 years so she’s been my mentor and I’ve learned a lot from her over the years. I chose pugs because they’re my absolute favorite breed. I love their quirky goofy personalities and think pugs are a blast. We also co-own a few frenchies together.
What makes your program special?
My dogs are raised in my home and are tested for PDE,DM, PLL, and PKD Def. All of my adults have yearly exams and have had all their elbows, hips, and eyes checked. My puppies go home spoiled and well socialized.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, fawn, brindle, and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
