Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Loving Doodles located in Frederick, MD. Our mission is to raise healthy, happy mini G’doodle pups and connect them with loving families! We ensure our pups get the best start, to include selecting healthy parents with good temperaments, and proper socialization. We provide our pups and their families with a truly positive experience!

Q. & A. with JD

  • Why did you start breeding?

Life long canine enthusiasts, we were enthralled by the mini Goldendoodle combination of poodle smarts with golden retriever friendliness. We want to provide families with loving, adaptable dogs who travel easily and whose size is acceptable at many establishments (hotels, beach rentals). Our exceptional mini goldendoodles inspired us to share our good fortune with other families seeking the same.
  • What makes your program special?

Experienced breeder with strong knowledge of dog genetics and socialization requirements. Our dogs are regularly vet checked and have been tested for the full Goldendoodle DNA panel of diseases, including GRPRA1, GRPRA2, ICH, DM, and PRA-prcd. Our pups are raised in our home with their mothers, and not banished to concrete cells in external buildings, as often is the case with larger operations.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include petite and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, apricot, red, black, merle, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I could not have had a better experience working with JD and Loving Doodles. Communication has been top tier even after having my new pup for just over a week and still to this day a month later! I am extremely happy and blessed to be able to find this group of people who not only love the dogs but prepare first time dog owners like myself. Gus and I are soulmates and he has changed my life in so many ways. I cannot thank you guys more enough. Please enjoy these pictures of my happy boy😊

Loving Doodles was a fantastic breeder to work with. We traveled from out of state to pick up our new puppy and they were very helpful and made the experience very easy. They provided great communication before and after we picked up Bentley including detailed information on care for our him (e.g., food recommendations, rest schedule, potty schedule). Best of all they gave us a wonderful, playful, happy, and well behaved handsome puppy. Everyone that has seen him has given compliments on his temperament and how adorable he is.

I couldn't have had a better experience buying a Golden Doodle from JD of Loving Doodles. All was great from my first contact with them to actually taking her home. Their response to my initial inquiry was quick as to all my subsequent questions. I especially gravitated toward Loving Doodles because of their insistence on breeding healthy dogs. I was amazed that they sent me pages of helpful hints individualized to Dixie. What to get, what to expect, etc. Dixie is a healthy, playful but calm pup who is potty trained and walks well on a leash. When it was time for me to pick Dixie up ( I met them in an agreed upon location) they spend a good deal of time answering my questions and presented me with before seen health records and toys. I know they will always be there for me and future questions. I feel that I have made friends with the breeder and will continue to update them on Dixie.

We have already fallen completely in love with "Chauncey," our 13-week-old Golden Doodle from JD of Loving Doodles. We brought her home one week ago. It was an easy drive from our home in Reading, PA, to the Monocacy Historic Battlefield Park near Frederick, MD. The convenient parking, restrooms, and wide open grassy spaces made for an ideal meet-up. Chauncey clearly came from a loving first home at Loving Doodles. She started slightly shy, as you would expect on her first solo journey into our world. Just one week later, she has restored herself to the lively, affectionate, curious, and brilliant puppy she surely has always been. She sleeps through the night in an open kennel near our bed. House training has been effortless, with a 95% success rate in using our fenced backyard instead of inside. When walking in the park, she is curious and playful with other dogs, with a cute little bark that she uses only rarely, except to greet her canine pals. JD has been outstanding, with immediate responses to all our questions, excellent health and home preparedness suggestions, and complete veterinary check-ups for Chauncey before our meeting. Chauncey even came with a whole bag of toys and snacks as a send-off gift. We have had dogs for over 40 years. When our beloved Australian Shepherd, Foster (age 14+), died a few months ago, we thought we'd try the convenience of going "no dog" for our family's travel schedule. We lasted only 3 months. Chauncey has plugged a big hole in our hearts, and we are so grateful to JD for bringing her into our lives.

It was truly a pleasure working with JD and Loving Doodles. They were responsive to my many questions, were flexible around pickup dates and location, and were so informative about care and routine. We communicated regularly and were updated on his vaccinations and general well being over the weeks before we were able to bring our puppy home. Most importantly, our puppy from Loving Doodles was healthy, happy, well-adjusted and incredibly adorable.
