I'm Dana P., the breeder behind Meadowlark Flat Coated Retrievers located in Colorado. Our dogs are OFA health tested and are CHIC Certified. We strive to breed dogs with great temperaments that exhibit all that a Flat Coat should be. Raising puppies is our passion and we love seeing happy puppies in happy homes.
Q. & A. with Dana
Why did you start breeding?
At just 12 years old, I brought home my first Flat Coated Retriever, Kona, from Dr. Rachel Hill. She became my first Champion and Grand Champion, my Juniors partner, and the foundation of Meadowlark. Under Dr. Rachel Hill’s mentorship, I welcomed my first litter in December 2022, beginning my journey into breeding and establishing the goals and direction of my program.
What makes your program special?
At Meadowlark Flat Coated Retrievers, our mission is to raise puppies with strong, thoughtful foundations that help them thrive throughout their lives. We follow the Puppy Culture program, and each puppy goes through Early Scent Introduction (ESI), and Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) at days 3 through 16.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
