I'm the breeder behind Oak & Soul Silken Windhounds and Mudi located in Rural Valley, PA. I am a small, home-based breeder focusing on temperament, drive, and function in everyday life. My dogs participate in many activities including but not limited to: nose work, agility, cadaver, SAR, straight racing, lure coursing, oval racing, obedience, and disc dogs.
About Emily
I am in my early 30’s with an AA in veterinary technology. I am a mother of two wonderful boys. I photograph specialty and national events for my breed club as well as performance events. We love to do all sorts of dog sports that are not typical for sighthounds. We love to break breed stereotypes!
What makes Emily’s program special
In a breed that doesn’t do a lot of health testing or have strong puppy raising programs, we aim to always better our program through education. The care we put into making sure we are raising sound, confident puppies makes our program special! Our program focuses on producing higher drive dogs for sports and work.
Emily is a member of 3 clubs

Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

We start them off with ENS and ESI. We strive to have our puppies meet at least 50 people. We take them to stores so they can see and smell and hear new things. They travel to our sports leagues to see, smell, hear new things, and meet new people. We expose them to medical equipment, moving items like bikes and scooters, and wild and crazy kids. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Crate Training , Outdoors (when Weather permits), Avidog, Outdoors, e.g. rain, crate training, Noise desensitized , Various Surfaces , Noises , Strangers, Stores, Scents, Touch Desensitization, Early Neurological Stimulation, Grooming Desensitization, Household Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Socialized with Elderly, Socialized with Other Animals, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Cats, Socialized with Children, Crate Training, Sit Command, "No" Biting or Chewing, Impulse Control, Human Interactions , Car Training , Potty Training, Leash Walking, Initial House Training, Age Appropriate House Training, Age Appropriate Crate Training, and Nail Trimming.
The puppies go to the vet around 8 weeks to get fecals and general health checks and certificates. Prior to that, we deworm mom and puppies. Vaccines are given in time with their litters nomograph recommendation.
We send our puppies home with Breed Club Registration, Certificate of Health, Food Starter Bag, Microchip, Puppy Collar, Vaccinations, and Blanket with Littermates' and Mom's scents.
Emily offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“We encourage all new owners to come meet the parents and see where their new family member grew up. ”
Work with a trusted transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at a meeting point close to home.
