I'm the breeder behind Oronzova Borzoi located in Sebastopol, CA. I am a preservation breeder striving for quality, health, and to ensure the future of the Borzoi for generations to come. I study the pedigree, structure, and genetics of every Borzoi pair prior to breeding. I breed top quality Borzoi from health tested and titled parents for show, lure coursing, rally, obedience, or loving companions. My ultimate goal is to provide healthy, well structured dogs that are a joy to live with and can compete in any venue.
About Suzanne
I have been showing dogs since childhood. Borzoi have been my passion since 1974! I have bred multiple champions and top 10 borzoi including 6 specialty Best of Breed winners. My dogs and I have successfully competed in conformation, agility, obedience, rally, tracking and lure coursing. I believe in breeding borzoi who are able to perform in any venue that are also representative of our breed standard. I breed occasionally so it might be a bit of a wait for one of my puppies, but it’s well worth the wait!
What makes Suzanne’s program special
I am a breeder owner handler of Borzoi. I do not breed my dogs unless they are fully healthy and genetically tested. I am dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, socializing, and training my pups. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families. My puppies are raised in my home. I follow Puppy Culture and Avidog puppy rearing.

“This includes a microchip, first vaccinations, a vet check, AKC registration, pedigree, and puppy socialization. I require deposits once the puppies are born and a couple of weeks old. All of my puppies are the same price.”
Suzanne may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Suzanne offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Suzanne directly.
My puppies are raised in my home and raised following the Puppy Culture program. I start crate training, loose leash walking, clicker training, and acclimation to car rides. I do every thing I can to socialize my puppies. I want them to be easily trainable and have a smooth transition to their new home. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Exposure to Agility Tunnel and Wobble Board, Early Socialization, Tactical Stimulation, Various Surfaces, Basic Manners, Name Recognition, Outdoors (when Weather permits), Touch Desensitization, Strangers, Stores, Structures, e.g. Climbing, Chew, e.g. Bone, Toys, e.g. Ball, Grooming Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Household Desensitization, Socialized with Other Animals, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Litter Box Trained, "No" Biting or Chewing, and Potty Training.
All puppies have their first vaccinations, microchipped and health checked by my vet before they leave.
We send our puppies home with Vaccinations, AKC Registration, Blanket with Littermates Scent, and Microchip.
Suzanne offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“I'm happy to discuss options that work for me and my puppy buyers.”
Why Suzanne started breeding
I have always been invested in the well-being of animals. I wanted to give back to the breed by producing healthy pups and placing them into loving homes. It is an honor to represent this breed and create opportunities for others to experience the same joy that I've found in raising these wonderful dogs.

Excellent level
Oronzova Borzoi reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Borzois.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
