Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Playful Papillon's located in Foresthill, CA. We breed and show our dogs out of a love for and dedication to the protection and betterment of the breed. We are dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our pups.

MaryAnn’s experience

  • About MaryAnn

I have a BA in Child Development and ran a licensed family daycare for approx. 20 years. I also raised my papillons during part of that time. I understand different personalities and animal behavior as I have been around Macaws most my life. I raised three wonderful young adults. My partner Bill has loved and supported me and the paps but would like some ear plugs at times! We love our babies

  • What makes MaryAnn’s program special

Breeding to the standard or better but more importantly is to make sure they live to the full lives they can give someone love and also get that love for many years. With this in mind I do my health testing to the best of my ability to help achieve this goal. We really miss our babies when they go over rainbow bridge so this is my goal. Playful and loving personalities are also a must.

Puppy health practices

Our puppies parents have had PAW Print Genetics testing and are cleared by parentage. Some of our puppies have been examined up front by our vet. We ask that you take them to the vet for any other exam and have fecal done. We tend to avoid the vets office because of Parvo, etc. prior to all three vaccinations so we do that at home and they do get microchipped.

Extras

We send our puppies home with Puppy starter kit, Toys, Registration, Microchip, Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, Food & treats, Blanket with Littermates Scent, Microchip, and Our puppies are all sent home with welcome home bags and information. .

More about MaryAnn

  • Why MaryAnn started breeding

My name is MaryAnn Wik and I live in Northern California, my love for papillons started in 2009. I would go to the drag races with Bill and I see people with their little dogs of various breeds hanging around. So I thought it would be fun to get a small dog to hang out with me at the track too! I started researching a number of breeds and came across these beautiful little toy dogs called papillons. I couldn't believe I had never heard of them before! They were described as a healthy breed, wash and wear, well on farm or in an apartment/home, so with all that going for them I had to research more on these beautiful little creatures. Next thing I knew, I found Skittles. Papillons are such loving, fun dogs with great temperaments and they have exceeded their description that attracted me to them!
