Getting a puppy from Lana

Lana has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices range from $1,850 - $2,500 and include a deposit of $250.

“Deposits of $250.00 are requested to hold your pup. Deposits are placed towards balance. Puppy selections take place when puppies are approx 6.5-7.5 weeks old and in order of received deposits. What's included

Enrichment and socialization

We introduce our puppies to barrier games, sounds, and pets as early stimulation. They are allowed to explore outside at weeks 4-5. We introduce them to a leash at 7 weeks. We use Puppy Culture methods early on. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Car rides, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Sound Stimulation, Household Desensitization, Touch Desensitization, Toys, e.g. Ball, Leash Walking, Socialized with Other Animals, Grooming Desensitization, Socialized with Cats, Early Neurological Stimulation, Structures, e.g. Climbing, Chew, e.g. Bone, Noises , Socialized with Children, Various Surfaces , Outdoors, e.g. rain, Puppy Culture , Temperament imprinting Evaluation , and Early stages of crate training.

Puppy health practices

Our puppies are dewormed every 2 weeks until they go home. They're given their first 5-way vaccination starting 6 wks. Puppies are examined by a vet before going home and all given a health guarantee.

Great Pyrenees

Prospect Pyrenees reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Pyrenees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Temperament Test

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia, Great Pyrenees Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
