I'm the breeder behind Rocky Fork Newfoundlands located in Lucas, OH. I strive to make sure every owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy. Sometimes the most ordinary things can be made extraordinary simply by doing them with a Newfoundland.
About Laura
We are a small farm in a small town. We raise Newfoundlands and keep other animals. I began breeding Australian Shepherds but became involved with Newfoundlands after the passings of my Aussie breeding pair. We love the Newfs and affectionately call them our “Doofy Newfies.”
What makes Laura’s program special
Our dogs are not raised as a business. We do not keep more dogs than what can be cared for as a pet. Puppies are raised in-home, introduced to house-training early, and we keep contact with our puppy owners.
Laura has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $2,000 - $3,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $100.
“Refundable ONLY if we are unable to meet the request for a puppy. If there are not enough in the litter, then the deposit can be rolled over or refunded.”
Laura may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Laura offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Laura directly.
Puppies are raised in-home in the main living area of the house so they are exposed to normal activities of daily living, other dogs, kids, and people. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Household Desensitization, Socialized with Adult Dogs, and Socialized with Children.
Puppies are worked on a regular schedule and will receive their vaccinations before they leave. We keep the puppies until after they visit our vet for a health clearance at 8 weeks old.
Your puppy may come with extra benefits, like a small bag of food or a toy carrying the scent of their littermates. While Rocky Fork Newfoundlands hasn’t shared specifics yet, we encourage you to reach out directly to learn what thoughtful extras they may include to help your puppy transition comfortably into their new home.
Laura offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Work with a trusted transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at a meeting point close to home.
