Q. & A. with Missy
Why did you start breeding?
We strive to not only produce beautiful puppies and continue our show line but to help promote responsible breeding in order to ensure that the White Swiss Shepherd will continue to thrive for generations to come.
What makes your program special?
It is important to us that we are breeding versatile, well-rounded, socialized, and healthy pups for our buyers to welcome into their homes and hearts. Our dogs are a huge part of our lives, and we enjoy spending time with them; whether that be through cometing in shows/trials, various day-to-day activities together or just cuddling up at night.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Serenity Valley White Swiss Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Berger Blanc Suisses.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
