I'm the breeder behind Shakira Kennels located in Pearland, TX. We are a small, family-run program focused on breeding high-quality puppies that are healthy, loving, and true to the standard. We provide each of our dogs and puppies with the best care, and it is our top priority to ensure each pup goes to a responsible, loving home.
Teri’s experience
About Teri
I grew up with my parents breeding English Bulldogs. I showed in AKC confirmation with my dad and loved it. I wanted to breed dogs and enjoy them with my family and with yours too.
What makes Teri’s program special
Our puppies are placed after speaking to potential families and placing puppies based on temperament and the family’s lifestyle vs picking a color of a collar and having no idea what that puppy is actually like. I’ve placed puppies by this method for almost thirty years and have yet to disappointed ❤️. Puppies are evaluated at eight weeks and we continue to get to know them as they grow.

Getting a puppy from Teri
Teri has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $2,500 - $5,000 and include a deposit of $500.
“Prices includes two year health guarantee, excluding nutritional deficiencies, vaccines, worming, puppy socialization. All companion puppies sold on limited registration are the same price.”
Contract and health guarantee
Teri may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
Our puppies are born and raised in our home. Socialized from day one with children and other dogs besides mom. I utilize the following enrichment methods: also have lots of friends and family who come over to handle the puppies and help out with the puppies daily. I do not take them to public places to expose them to people as they are not fully vaccinated until 16 weeks. , Rules of 7, Outdoors (when Weather permits), Outdoors, e.g. rain, Structures, e.g. Climbing, Toys, e.g. Ball, Various Surfaces , Early Neurological Stimulation, Household Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Socialized with Adult Dogs, Socialized with Children, Puppy Culture , Basic manners, and Human Interactions .
Puppy health practices
All puppies are vaccinated, wormed and cleared by vet.

We send our puppies home with puppy culture, Early Neurological Stimulation, Volhard Personality Test, Blanket with Littermates' and Mom's scents, Food Starter Bag, Vaccinations, and AKC Registration.
Bringing your puppy home
Teri offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Pearland, TX or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
Get your puppy dropped off to you
Work with a trusted flight nanny or transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.

I wanted to breed and show with my sons and now with my grandchildren. I love our dogs and everything we do with them. I especially love knowing our dogs truly make families whole

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
