I'm Riley S., the breeder behind Southbound Kennel located in Leoma, TN. At Southbound Kennels we are proud to offer our high-quality puppies to loving homes. We are very experienced with both Dachshunds and Poodles and are careful to breed and raise our pups with only the best policies. The quality of our puppies reflects the conscious decisions we make throughout every part of the breeding process.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I started breeding dachshunds when I was very young. I have always lived the breed.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are committed to staying connected to our puppy families throughout their lifetimes to ensure they never feel alone and can raise their new, furry companion with confidence and joy.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies are toy size. Dachshund puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Dachshund puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies include apricot, black, brown, cafe au lait, cream, silver, white, parti, and phantom. Dachshund puppies include sable, red, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Riley

Riley has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Deposits goes toward the puppy price and are NOT refundable unless puppy dies or have a life threatening health condition in my care. Otherwise deposits are 100% not refundable.”

Contract & health guarantee

Riley may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
