I'm the breeder behind Steadfast Farm (SFF) located in Tuttle, OK. Steadfast Farm is committed to producing healthy, well rounded Basenjis, bred to the standard for quality, type and movement. That being said, we feel it is equally important to produce puppies that make exceptional companions. This is why we strive to set our puppies up for success from the very beginning by incorporating the Puppy Culture protocols and enrichment opportunities with all our litters.

About Jenifer
I am a life-long animal lover and breed critically endangered Hackney Horses and select Hackney Crosses for sport, as well as my breed of choice for 30 years- Basenjis. Additionally, I have spent 30 years in the veterinary profession as a technician and hospital administrator. I think these life experiences make me exceedingly aware of the need to promote good stewardship across the board.
What makes Jenifer’s program special
A few things set my program apart. One is my many years in the veterinary profession and my deep understanding of the importance of producing a healthy, well-socialized puppy capable of living a good long life as a member of someone's family. To that end, I raise my puppies with Puppy Culture and that hands down sets my puppies up for success and sets my program apart from those that don't.

Getting a puppy from Jenifer
Jenifer has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices range from $3,000 and include a non-refundable deposit of $750.
“The price includes puppies raised with Puppy Culture, the puppy's AKC registration, AKC Reunite, their microchipping and at least 2 sets of vaccinations. All puppies are the same price regardless of whether they are going to a show home or companion home. Deposit is nonrefundable but will carry over to the next SFF litter.”
Contract and health guarantee
Jenifer may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. What's included
Enrichment and socialization
I use Puppy Culture and follow the protocols as closely as possible. We take our puppies safe places. We introduce them to new things and safe dogs. We have at least one puppy party before they go to their new homes. Throughout their development, we introduce new sounds, objects, smells, and experiences. We work on recall and loose leash walking before the puppies leave. We crate train all the puppies before they leave. We work on resource guarding and instill positive CERs before it ever becomes an issue. We do everything we can to set our puppies up for success. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Socialized with other animals, Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Scent introduction, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Car rides, Various sounds, Crate Training, Leash Walking, and Household Desensitization.
Puppy health practices
I keep all my puppies until they are 12 weeks. At that point, they will have seen the vet at least twice and will have received 2 sets of puppy vaccinations (DAPP), oral Bordetella, 2 dewormings, and have had a fecal checked twice. All my puppies are microchipped prior to leaving. All my puppies are have a CAER eye exam before leaving as well.

We send our puppies home with Initial potty training, Puppy starter kit, Toys, Food & treats, Vet records, Basic obedience & manners, Microchip, Registration, AKC Registration, Food Starter Bag, Microchip, Puppy Starter Kit, Bone, and Puppy Collar.
Bringing your puppy home
Jenifer offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
Pick up your puppy in Tuttle, OK or nearby
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.
“We might consider shipping a puppy if Alaska Airlines is the carrier. We prefer the puppy to be picked up but if that is not feasible- flight nannies are a good option.”
Get your puppy dropped off to you
Work with a trusted flight nanny or transporter to get your puppy comfortably dropped off at an airport or meeting point close to home.

Why Jenifer started breeding
I have owned Basenjis since 1991. My first Tri bitch was bought as a pet. We ended up at Westminster?! I have been hooked ever since and absolutely love purposely bred purebred dogs. I breed because I want to preserve the Basenji breed. I have been extremely fortunate to have been encouraged and mentored by some of the best Basenji breeders in the world.

About Flirt
Flirt is a lovely Tri Color Basenji who is a pleasure to live with. She's a very easygoing girl whose mother, GCH Wild West's Leather and Lace, was an exceptional producer and an excellent mom. I have no doubt Flirt will prove to be the same! At the time of this listing, Flirt needs a single point to complete her AKC Championship. After raising her upcoming litter, we have plans to let her do some plastic bag chasing so she can add some lure coursing titles to her name!

Bueller. Bueller. Bueller. Bueller is a striking Tri Color dog that absolutely killed it in the show ring with some very big wins on his way to finishing his Championship in 2 weekends! He's taking a break from the glam life to try his paw at some Nose Work and Lure Coursing, but he will most likely return to the show ring next year for his Grand. He has a lot to offer as a sire, and we are looking forward to seeing what he produces!

Emerson is a lovely stamp of a Basenji who also happens to be the sweetest guy around. His tail wags and kisses are legendary! Handsome is as Handsome does, and Emerson does not disappoint! He made short work of his Championship title by finishing in just 2 weeks of shows. His first litter was most impressive as one stunning Tri Color puppy is already making a name for herself in the show ring by breezing through her Championship with Hound Group placements no less at only 7 months old?! We expect big things from Emerson not only as a sire but also as a Special when he makes his run for his Grand championship!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
PRA, Basenji Type, Fanconi Syndrome
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
