I'm the breeder behind Whitehaven Farm Shelties located in Lake Cumberland Area, KY. Our dogs are our beloved companions. We care deeply about this breed and are proud to be responsible breeders. Our hope is to prepare each of our puppies with thoughtful socialization so they have the best foundation to seamlessly transition into their new homes.
About Laura
My husband and I are both health care professionals with a strong awareness of genetics and good health. We only breed for the healthiest and most stable dogs. They are handled and socialized from day one.
What makes Laura’s program special
At Whitehaven Farm we only breed to improve the breed and produce excellent quality Dogs that can excel in many different areas such as the Show ring, agility and service dogs. We breed to get the best temperament and loving dispositions. Our dog Music is an AKC registered Therapy dog and has performed over 100 visits for Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Hospice of Lake Cumberland in her first year of service. She has her Trick Dog Novice, level 2 obedience and is an excellent companion in our home. Our dogs are raised around small children and other animals. They are acclimated to both busy work environments and the farm.

Laura has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies. You'll also have the chance to share a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a new companion. Together, you'll choose the puppy that's right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Puppy prices range from $2,500 and include a deposit of $250.

Laura may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. We start potty training at 4 weeks and work on come and sit with the pups. I utilize the following enrichment methods: Introduced to people of different ages and appearances, Socialized with other dogs, Daily handling, Socialized in new places, Socialized with children, Surface & tactile stimulation, Car rides, Various sounds, Socialized with Elderly, also have lots of friends and family who come over to handle the puppies and help out with the puppies daily. I do not take them to public places to expose them to people as they are not fully vaccinated until 16 weeks. , Noise desensitized , Touch Desensitization, Early Neurological Stimulation, Grooming Desensitization, Household Desensitization, Sound Stimulation, Socialized with Other Animals, Socialized with Adult Dogs, and Socialized with Children.
All pups have their first round of shots and are dewormed.
We send our puppies home with Initial potty training, Toys, Food & treats, Vet records, Microchip, Registration, Blanket with mom & littermates’ scent, and Our puppies are all sent home with welcome home bags and information. .
Laura offers options to help you easily get your new puppy home.
If you’re nearby, you can visit in person to pick up your pup. If you’re far away, you can travel by car or plane.

We’ll meet at a mutually convenient halfway point to drop off your puppy. Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate the details for your pick-up day together.

About Music
Music is an AKC registered Sheltie. Has a Trick dog title, obedience training and is a AKC registered Therapy. This is her second litter and both with Todd. They produced pups with stable temperaments and good conformation the first time that we just had to repeat the breeding.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Disease Panel, von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III), Dermatomyositis, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
